Our Nurse Practitioners
Nurse practitioners (NPs) are nurses with a master’s degree who work closely with your physician to manage your health care. NPs have the education and expertise to perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medication.
At North Shore Oncology, our NPs provide follow up care, patient education and counseling, and symptom management with the assistance of the physician. While they do not replace your personal physician, they are here to expedite and assist with the management of your care and treatment.
Our Nurses
North Shore Oncology employs a dedicated group of professional nurses as part of our multidisciplinary team. Our nursing staff is specialty-trained in the areas of oncology, blood disorders, and chemotherapy administration. Many of the nurses have completed advanced training and testing to become an Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
Our nurses are your advocates. They are available to provide you and your family with education about your treatment, help in the management of side effects, assist with coordination of resources, and, more importantly, provide you with personalized care.

Our Lab Staff
The North Shore Oncology Laboratory provides an imperative service for the treatment process and continued managed care. We have a staff of highly experienced lab techs whom are either certified in Phlebotomy or as a Medical Technician. We are committed to making your experience in the lab caring, pleasant and safe environment as we utilize our expertise to draw the correct labs in a timely manner. We utilize our expertise and that of our nurses, NPs and physicians to manage all your health concerns. We feel confident that our staff is prepared to handle whatever issues that may arise.
Our Pharmacy Staff
North Shore Oncology pharmacy provides a professional staff of dedicated Pharmacy Technicians who are licensed and Nationally Certified. They are an integral part of our professional team ensuring the Right Drug and the Right Dose is delivered to the Right Patient in a timely fashion. Our pharmacy technicians utilize their expertise in the safe handling and preparation of chemotherapy and work closely with the nurses and physicians to ensure drug safety in all aspects of drug preparation and delivery. You can feel assured that any drug you receive has been checked and confirmed multiple times with team members prior to being administered. Our pharmacy technicians are an integral part of your oncology team.
